As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
Comfortable in and around open water with basic knowledge of safety considerations
Able to navigate deep water and use watercraft such as surfboards, paddleboards, and kayaks
Have the ability to pass a lifeguard prerequisite exam, including a 550-meter open water swim and treading water without using hands for 2 minutes
Preferred experience working with or teaching children
Red Cross Certification or WSI certification is a plus but not required
Must be 18 years of age or older
